Three Pitchers Shut Out South Bay Saints

OC Legends defeated South Bay Saints 5-0 on Thursday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Jonathan Martz (LBCC) struck out Owen Sexton to finish off the game.

A single by Bruce Yamamoto in the second inning was positive for South Bay Saints.

Julien Martin (Grambling State) took the win for OC Legends. He surrendered zero runs on four hits over five innings, striking out six. Martz and Michael Blanco (LB State) entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

OC Legends socked one home run on the day. Nick Lopez (Saddleback) had a long ball in the fourth inning.

OC Legends tallied 12 hits. Connor Montgomery (Northern Illinois), Tristan Hanoian (OCC), and Ben Barth (Clarion) each had multiple hits for OC Legends. Montgomery went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead OC Legends in hits.

South Bay Saints totaled seven hits in the game. Brandon Brown and Yamamoto each collected multiple hits for South Bay Saints.

The Legends improve to 5-4 on the summer and return to action Friday 6/14 vs. Solana Beach Cardinals.
