Legends Take Early Lead In Victory Over Solana Beach Redbirds

An early lead helped OC Legends defeat Solana Beach Redbirds 8-2 on Friday. OC Legends scored on a single by Mark Stanford (LBCC) in the first inning and a double by Nick Lopez (Saddleback) in the second inning.

The Legends notched three runs in the eighth inning. The Legends put the pressure on, lead by doubles by Graham Dvorak (Samford) and Steven Fitzsimmons (Valparaiso).

Nathan Wilson (Colorado Mesa) pitched the Legends to victory. He lasted five innings, allowing one hit and one run while striking out nine. Will Anderson (Westmont) and Nathan Critchett (Loyola Marymount) entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Chris Wood took the loss for Solana Beach Redbirds. He allowed 12 hits and eight runs over eight innings, striking out ten.

OC Legends tallied 12 hits on the day. Stanford, Conrad Villafuerte (Colorado Mesa), and Dvorak all managed multiple hits for the Legends. Stanford led with three hits in four at-bats.

The Legends return to action Saturday, June 15th as they take on the SoCal Shepherds in a doubleheader at Biola. First pitch is at 1 pm.
