Legends Hold Onto Victory vs San Diego Waves

The OC Legends got out to a seven-run lead in the seventh inning and held on for an 8-7 victory over San Diego Waves on Wednesday. 

The San Diego Waves scored six runs in the eighth inning, but the OC Legends still managed to pull out the victory.

In the first inning, OC Legends got their offense started when Nolan Jekich (Seattle U) singled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring one run.

OC Legends tallied four runs in the fifth inning. scored on a grand slam by Aharon Modlin (Pepperdine).

Cole Fleming (Chapman) got the win for the Legends. He lasted seven innings, allowing five hits and one run while striking out ten. Ty Cobb (Eastern New Mexico) threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

OC Legends smacked two home runs on the day. Modlin had a four-bagger in the fifth inning. Connor Montgomery (Northern Illinois) put one out in the second inning. The Legends collected nine hits on the day. Jekich and Montgomery all managed multiple hits for OC Legends. Jekich went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead the OC Legends in hits.

The Legends return to action Thursday as they take on the Inland Valley Pirates at Brookhurst Park. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00pm.
