Today's spotlight is on former Legend standout RHP Dalton Erb.

Dalton was a starting pitcher for the Legends during the 2015 summer. The Legends set a franchise record for wins that summer going 44-15 en route to winning the OCCL championship. He entered the 2015 summer having just finished a successful juco career at El Camino College and was preparing to play at D2 powerhouse Chico State.

Erb was named a 2015 OCCL All-Star and earned a spot as a weekend starter at Chico State during the spring of 2016. After the 2016 season, Erb was selected in the 30th round of the MLB Draft by the San Diego Padres. After playing in the Padres organization he went on to play professionally in the Czech Republic and is currently pitching in Perth Australia.

We are proud to have Dalton as a member of our baseball club, he was a great Legend and continues to make us proud.

Dalton Erb Q & A:

Q: Why do you play Baseball?

A: I play baseball because it’s what I love to do and I can always remember playing it. No matter what was going on in life baseball was my escape and I made many great friendships through the game. Also since getting to play pro baseball for a living and getting to travel all over the world doing it is an amazing experience.

Q: What kind of player do you try to be?

A: I always just tried being the best player I could be and trying to get better every day I was playing along with always having a great time doing it.

Q: What was it like to play for the Legends?

A: Playing with the legends was one of the best summers I had playing college summer baseball. The team we had and coaching was a great mix and I enjoyed going to the field every day and getting to be around everyone.

Q: How did playing for the Legends help you?

A: Playing for the Legends helped me get a good amount of innings in the summer keeping me sharp for the upcoming season and I also got to play in the all-star game that summer with the best guys in the area, which allowed me to get more exposure.

Q: What advice would you give to a current Legends player?

A: The best advice I could give you is to always go out there to get at least 1 percent better every day. Always have a good mindset going to the field and you will have a lot of fun, and trust the coaches around you they are out there to help you get better.
