Hale, Patchen, Conrad and Angus enshrined in Legends HOF

The Legends Baseball Club is proud to announce its 2020 Hall of Fame Class.

Sean Hale, Turner Conrad, Ray Patchen, and Jake Angus compose the class that is loaded with some of the most influential Legends in program history.

Each of these players played multiple years with the Legends and each player won a championship at some point with the team.

Meet the newest members of the Legends HOF:

Sean Hale RHP – LBCC/Georgetown College (2012-2015): Four-time member of the Legends and a member of the original Legends team in 2012. A key part of the pitching staff on two championship teams (2013, 2015). Fulfilled roles as a starter, reliever, and closer.  The franchise leader in innings pitched.

Always showed up on time, always worked hard, always got outs. Rock-solid. A big piece of our program’s foundation. I cannot say enough about his work ethic and character. He threw in some very big games for us and was an absolute bulldog.

Turner Conrad 3B/1B – Westmont College (2013-2015): Three-time member of the Legends and an original member of the Legends – Red team (Little Legends) in 2013. A fixture in the lineup and the corner of the infield.  Turner was a massive part of the miraculous Little Legends championship run in 2014 and the Legends – Blue championship in 2015. He played on two of the top three Legends teams in program history. Always showed up ready to play, took great at-bats and brought his pals Ryan Erickson and Ryan Franklin to the team who were absolute nails.

Turner’s consistent approach and infectious positive energy helped the program take the next step as a force in Southern California collegiate summer baseball.

Ray Patchen 3B/1B – LBCC/CSU San Marcos (2013-2014): One of the best pure hitters to wear a Legends jersey. Patch was a fixture in the middle of the lineup during a stretch when the Legends won 76 games in two years. Played a large role in the Legends 2013 CCSBA championship. Elite and fiery competitor. One of the most committed Legends off all-time he logged over 200 at-bats both summers he played and is one of only a handful of Legends to tally 50 hits in a summer season.

Ray is now a professional umpire working as high as the AA level and is primed to be in the big leagues one day.

Jake Angus LHP – LBCC (2013-2015): The bumpiest baseball career path of the group Jake Angus is the epitome of a Legend. The 6’7 lefty was a member of the original Little Legends team in 2013. Jake was named to the top 100 JC prospects in the country list by Baseball America in 2013. He played a massive role on the Legends team that won the 2015 OCCL championship. One of the most talented pitchers in program history Jake was out of baseball after the 2015 summer. He sat out for 2016 and 2017 before making a comeback and signing a professional contract to play with the Westside Woolly Mammoths of the United Shores Professional Baseball League. He sat out for two years and played pro ball, Legendary. Great player, great person and is a part of a very special group of Legends who played in the early days.

A quote from Jrod

“These guys are all special and brought so much to our team in their own unique way. A hardworking, consistent, infectious, dedicated group of young men. They brought a ton of skill and passion during the foundational years of the program. These guys have done much more for me more than I could ever do for them. I’m not sure if they understand how important they were, but we honestly wouldn’t be where we are today without them. I'm proud to have them in our Hall of Fame.”
