LA Legends Outlast OC Legends

LA Sweep OC in a two game series

The Los Angeles Legends squared off in an exciting baseball game against the Orange County Legends at La Quinta High School Monday in a Legends Derby. The Los Angeles Legends came out strong, scoring a run in the first inning and adding another in the second. They were held scoreless in the third inning but came back with a vengeance, scoring two runs in both the fourth and sixth innings. However, they couldn't add any more runs in the later innings.


The Orange County Legends struggled to get their offense going and could only score runs in the sixth inning, where they scored one run. In the ninth inning, they made a valiant effort to stage a comeback, scoring three runs, but ultimately fell short.
AJ Quezada (Long Beach CC) led the way for the Los Angeles Legends, going 1-for-3 with a run scored, a walk, an RBI, and a stolen base. Ryan Osso (Culver Stockton) performed well, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI. Hayden Hodges (Clarendon) had a big game, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, a triple, and three RBIs.


Dominic Porter (Golden West) had a solid game for the Orange County Legends, going 2-for-3 with a run scored and three stolen bases. Joseph De Francisco (Undecided) provided a spark with a home run and an RBI. Adam Baggetta (Golden West) also had a productive game, going 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, and an RBI.
On the pitching side, Anthony Joya (El Camino) of the Los Angeles Legends was the standout player, pitching five innings of shutout ball and striking out nine batters. Delvan Gomez (Whittier) started the game for the Los Angeles Legends but had a tough outing, giving up three runs in just one inning of work. Trevor Steele took the loss for the Orange County Legends, allowing two runs in three innings.


The LA Legends improve to 2-1 on the season as the OC Legends fall to 0-2. The OC Legends are back in action on June 7th as they take on the Biscuits in a Pro-Am League matchup. The LA Legends return to action Friday, June 9th, when they take on the Red Birds in a doubleheader.
